Everything you need to know about NEOiSM contact lenses
About the Product
1 What makes NEOiSM lenses different from regular colour lenses?
NEOiSM lenses use the patented Sandwich Process — colour pigments are permanently sealed between two HEMA layers with zero direct eye contact. Unlike many colour lenses where pigment is applied to the surface, NEOiSM pigments never touch your cornea or tear film. Combined with U.S. FDA-approved pigments and Neovision's 30+ years of manufacturing expertise, NEOiSM delivers vivid, long-lasting colours with a high standard of safety and comfort.
2 Are the colour pigments safe for my eyes?
Yes. All NEOiSM colour lenses use only U.S. FDA-approved pigments. These pigments are sealed inside the lens using the patented Sandwich Process — encased between the inner and outer HEMA layers — so they have zero direct contact with your cornea or tear film at any point during wear.
3 Does NEOiSM offer UV protection?
Select NEOiSM products include UV-blocking technology. Look for the UV Protection label on individual product pages. Note that contact lenses do not replace sunglasses — UV-protective lenses only cover the area of the lens, not the full eye and surrounding tissue.
4 What certifications does NEOiSM hold?
Neovision Co., Ltd. holds Korean GMP (KGMP), CE (EU), CFDA (China), FDA-approved pigments, and has been exported to 65+ countries since 1993. In Malaysia, all NEOiSM products are registered with the Medical Device Authority (MDA) under license MDA-5077-WDP123.
Wearing & Care
1 How do I put on contact lenses correctly?
① Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and dry with a clean, lint-free towel.
② Place the lens on the tip of your index finger. Check it forms a bowl shape — if the edges flare outward, it's inside-out.
③ With one hand, lift your upper eyelid. Use your other hand to gently pull down your lower eyelid.
④ While looking straight ahead, slowly place the lens onto your eye.
⑤ Gently close your eyelids and blink a few times to centre the lens. Check in a mirror that it is sitting correctly over the pupil.
2 How do I remove contact lenses?
① Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
② Open your eye wide by holding the upper and lower eyelid apart with two fingers.
③ Using your thumb and index finger like tweezers, gently pinch the lens and lift it off the eye.
⚠ Be careful with long nails — always use the soft pad of your fingertip, never the nail edge. If you have difficulty, consult your optometrist.
3 How do I clean and store my lenses?
① Wash and dry your hands.
② Place the removed lens on the palm of your hand and apply 2–3 drops of lens cleaning solution.
③ Gently rub the lens with your finger for 20 seconds on each side.
④ Rinse with fresh solution, then place into a clean lens case filled with fresh solution — never reuse old solution.
⑤ Replace your lens case at least every 3 months to prevent bacterial build-up.
4 How many hours per day can I wear contact lenses?
We recommend a maximum of 8–10 hours of daily wear for most users. This varies depending on your eye health and the specific product. If you experience dryness, blurred vision, redness, or discomfort at any point, remove the lenses immediately and rest your eyes.
5 Can I wear contact lenses while sleeping?
No. Never sleep in contact lenses unless your eye doctor has specifically prescribed extended-wear lenses for overnight use. Sleeping in lenses dramatically reduces oxygen supply to the cornea, increasing the risk of corneal ulcers, infections, and permanent eye damage.
6 Can I wear contact lenses while swimming or in the shower?
No. Always remove contact lenses before swimming, showering, or any water activity. Tap water, pool water, and natural water bodies can contain Acanthamoeba and other microorganisms that attach to lenses and cause severe, difficult-to-treat eye infections.
7 Should I put lenses in before or after applying makeup?
Always insert your contact lenses before applying eye makeup. This prevents makeup particles, sprays, and powders from contaminating the lens surface. When removing makeup at the end of the day, take out your lenses first before using any makeup remover or cleansers.
Purchase & Availability
1 Where can I buy NEOiSM lenses in Malaysia?
NEOiSM is available exclusively at authorised optical stores across Malaysia — including outlets in Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and other states. Use our Store Finder page to locate your nearest authorised retailer. Our staff are trained to help with lens selection and fitting.
2 Why can't I buy NEOiSM lenses online?
Under Malaysia's Medical Device Act 737 (MDA Act), contact lenses are classified as medical devices. Their sale requires a valid prescription from a licensed optometrist and must be conducted through a registered medical device outlet. Online sales of contact lenses without professional consultation are not legally permitted in Malaysia. This law exists to protect your eye health.
3 Do I need a prescription to buy coloured contact lenses?
Yes — even for purely cosmetic (plano / zero power) lenses. A licensed optometrist must assess your eye health, measure your corneal curvature (base curve), and determine the correct lens diameter for your eyes. Wearing ill-fitting lenses, even with no prescription power, can cause corneal abrasion, hypoxia, or infection.
4 What is the retail price of NEOiSM lenses?
Retail prices vary by product and are listed on each product page on this website (in MYR). Prices are set by NEOiSM Malaysia and should be consistent at all authorised stores. If you notice a significantly lower price at an unauthorised outlet, be cautious — counterfeit or expired lenses are a serious health risk.
Health & Safety
1 What should I do if my lenses feel uncomfortable?
Remove the lenses immediately. Inspect the lens — check if it is inside-out, torn, or has debris on the surface. If the lens looks fine, rinse with solution and try reinserting. If discomfort persists, do not force the lens and consult an eye care professional. Redness, pain, or blurred vision after removal are signs to seek medical attention promptly.
2 Can I use eye drops while wearing contact lenses?
Most standard eye drops and artificial tears are NOT compatible with contact lenses while wearing them. Always remove lenses before applying drops, and wait at least 15–30 minutes before reinserting. If you need regular eye drops for dry eye or medical conditions, consult your optometrist for contact-lens-compatible lubricating drops.
3 Can I share contact lenses with another person?
Absolutely not. Sharing contact lenses — even lenses that appear clean — is a serious health risk. Contact lenses are fitted to the unique curvature of your individual eye. Sharing them can transmit bacterial, viral, and fungal infections between wearers, and a lens that fits one person's eye may damage another's cornea.
4 How do I know when to discard my lenses?
Follow the wear schedule printed on the lens packaging strictly: daily lenses must be discarded after one use; fortnightly after 2 weeks from first open; monthly after 30 days from first open — regardless of how many days you actually wore them. Never extend the wear period. If lenses are torn, discoloured, or feel different, discard them immediately.
5 Is it safe to wear contact lenses if I feel tired or unwell?
If you are tired, sleep-deprived, or unwell, your eyes are already under stress and more susceptible to irritation and infection. On such days, wear glasses instead. Extended fatigue reduces your blink rate and tear production, making contact lens wear more uncomfortable and potentially harmful.
